Vital Proteins

About a week and a half ago, I finally started using Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides, and I will probably never go back to life without them! I've been putting them in my bulletproof coffee and/or a smoothie every day, and they are the best nutritional supplement I have ever added into my routine, hands down.

If you don't know anything about them (I stole this from their website)...

Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides are sourced from grass-fed, pasture-raised bovine hides to ensure a natural, high quality, and sustainable source of this ancient nutrient. Collagen is the most abundant protein in the body ensuring the health and vitality of your skin, hair, tendon, cartilage, bones, and joints. These natural peptides are highly bio-available, digestible and soluble in cold or hot liquids.

Essentially, they look like a fine, white powder, and they blend with just about anything! Even after a week and a half, I see a difference in my skin and complexion after using them every day. The best part is that the peptides are clean nutrition, have such a great consistency, and are so satiating. The unflavored peptides have 16 grams of protein per serving, and the Collagen Whey has 25 grams per serving! The whey flavor I've been using is vanilla and coconut water, and the smell and flavor is so good. Some protein powders have a weird aftertaste, but not this one, it's perfect.

So, there are a million different ways to use them, and you can find a ton of great recipes on their website, but I'll give you my two favorites:

Bulletproof Coffee

Since I did a round of the Whole30 this January, I've been obsessed with making bulletproof coffee, and the unflavored peptides are the perfect protein addition. I blend coffee with cinnamon, ghee, coconut oil, and a scoop or two of the unflavored peptides, and it is the creamiest, frothiest coffee in the world. It's better than any latte, and I crave it!

Smoothies

I've been using the Vanilla Collagen Whey in smoothies this week. I blend spinach, chia seeds, a banana, berries, almond milk, and 2 scoops of the collagen together, and it's so delicious! There are a million different ways you could do this, and I know the whey would be a great addition to chia pudding or oats, as well.

You can order Vital Proteins online, and I've seen their products in Whole Foods, as well. I am dying to try the Chocolate Collagen Whey next! Go grab some, and let me know what you think!
